Sizing is necessary to ensure that yarns are adequately protected during weaving. Modern looms operate at very high speeds, causing excessively high abrasion to the yarn. To ensure high weaving efficiency, an ever-increasing amount of size must be applied. Starch is the preferred sizing agent on cotton/cellulose and blends. To ensure that fabric is well prepared for dyeing and further processing, all size must be removed adequately and uniformly. The removal of these polymers during sizing results in good absorbency, and therefore good dyeing and printing. Failure to remove the polymers can result in uneven dyeing, poor batch-to-batch shade reproducibility and problems during printing.
Product : Amylzyme LAmylzyme L is an effective amylase for the total removal of starch-based sizing agents.
BenefitsTraditional scouring involves the use of chemicals such as caustic soda, which is not only harsh on the fabric, but also on the environment. Disadvantages of traditional scouring include chemical handling, excessive rinsing, effluent concerns and possible fibre damage. Bio-Scouring, an enzymatic process offering a milder and gentler alternative to traditional scouring.
Product: Purezym LPurezym L is a specially developed alkaline pectate lyase for end-users. Pectate lyase degrades the pectin from the primary cell wall of cotton without degrading the cotton itself.
BenefitsThe process by which the natural colours (nitrogenous substance) are removed from the fabric to make the fabric pure & permanent white is known as bleaching. It is done by bleaching agent mostly hydrogen peroxide. When the fabric is to be dyed after bleaching ,the remnant hydrogen peroxide has to be removed. Failure to do so can result in poor batch to batch shade reproducibility as well as uneven dyeing. The traditional method of Peroxide killing involves multiple rinses, which require large amount of water. The use of enzymes (Catalase) to remove hydrogen peroxide reduces water consumption and processing times.
Products :Bio-Polishing is a process that modifies the surface of cotton and other cellulosics in the presence of a cellulase enzyme. Bio-Polishing is an environmentally friendly way of improving the quality of fabrics.
Products :Bioblasting is the controlled hyrolysis of cellulosic fibres to modify the fabric in a way that reduces the pilling tendency and increases the smoothness and softness of the finished fabric.
The bioblasting process is usually applied under acidic conditions (pH 4.5-5.5), at 50-55°C, just after the bleaching process, and before dyeing. The process can be applied after dyeing, but due to color change that is unacceptable to the dyehouse, this is not preferred. Where as neutral bio-polishing gives the possibility of applying bio-polish before or after dyeing. Due to its broad pH profile (5-8), you can work under different process conditions. Additionally, you can combine the bio-polishing process with other processes, such as Peroxide Neutralization and Bio-scouring for cost optimization.
Products :Bio-Polishing is a process that durably improves the quality of cellulose based fabrics preventing pilling and fuzziness. Peroxide Killing is a process to remove residual hydrogen peroxide prior to the dyeing process. The use of Cellshine Bi+ allows the processor to carry out Bio-Polishing and Peroxide Killing in one step.
